We represent private individuals and companies where things get personal: in separation, dismissal, accusation or dispute. Clear on substance, plain in language, at your side when you decide.
Legal conflicts are rarely decided on paper alone. People under pressure make different decisions — in proceedings, in negotiations, in business. That is why we work in two clearly separate fields.
Seven areas of law, one point of contact. Together with you, we develop a strategy to enforce your claims — or to fend off unjustified demands. Out of court, where that is faster. In court, where it is necessary.
Go to practice areasA separate offering for executives, entrepreneurs and professionals — and for lawyers and other advisers who want to remain able to act in a highly demanding profession. Not legal advice, but work on clarity, resources and the ability to make decisions.
Go to coachingYou explain your situation once — not seven times. Where a case crosses the boundaries of one area of law, responsibility stays with us.
Separation and divorce touch everything: children, home, income, future. Together with you, we sort out what needs to be settled legally — and in what order.
For employees and employers. In employment law, deadlines often decide the outcome — after a dismissal, you have three weeks. Get in touch early.
The broadest area — from purchase contracts and contracts for work to liability. It usually comes down to a simple question: who owes whom what, and how do you prove it?
An accusation is not yet a verdict. What matters is what happens in the first few days — and what is better left unsaid. First rule: stay silent and call.
Unpaid invoices are not an accounting problem but a liquidity problem. The longer a claim is left lying, the harder it becomes to enforce.
Property ties up capital and nerves. From earlier work in the real estate and securities industry, we also know the commercial side of the business.
A specialist area of the firm. When horses are bought and sold, high values, veterinary medicine and difficult questions of proof come together — what counts here is experience with the subject matter, not just with the German Civil Code (BGB).
That is the rule rather than the exception. Call us — we will tell you honestly whether we are the right people.
Book an initial consultationNo two engagements are alike. The process is.
You describe your situation; we listen and put it in context. At the end, you know where you stand legally — and what taking action would cost.
Fees under the German Lawyers' Remuneration Act (RVG) or under a fee agreement — discussed before we accept the engagement and recorded in writing. We also check whether your legal expenses insurance covers the matter.
Not every dispute belongs in court, and not every settlement is a good one. We tell you which route we consider better — and explain why.
You hear what is happening before you have to ask. We keep you informed about submissions and deadlines proactively, not on request.
The law clarifies what applies. It does not clarify how someone decides, negotiates or presents themselves under pressure. That is exactly where hypnosystemic coaching comes in — as a separate offering, kept apart from any legal engagement.

My path into the legal profession was not a straight one. Before studying law, I studied business administration and worked as a sales director in the real estate and securities industry. Those years shaped how I advise today: I know how business decisions feel before they are assessed legally.
After studying law in Bremen, being admitted as a lawyer in 2008 and working at various law firms, I set up my own firm in Neuruppin and Wustrau in 2012 and ran it until 2025 — with a focus on family, criminal and equine law. Back in Hamburg, this became Brandes The Lawyers.

The initial consultation first settles one question: is your matter in the right hands with us? If not, we will tell you — and usually also who would be a better fit.
